American Brotherhood Weekend



		Am I eligible? To compete for the American Brotherhood Weekend Titles you must be: US Citizen or a Permanent US Resident At least 21 Years of Age by July 1, 2008 Self-Identify as a Gay or Lesbian Leatherperson The Leatherboy and Leathergirl contests are open to both male and female entrants. We feel that being a "boy" or "girl" is a state of mind, not a specific gender. Transgendered individuals are eligible to enter, as long as they self-identify as a Gay or Lesbian Leatherperson. How do I apply? ~~Download and Print the ABW 2008 Contestant Packet as an MS Word Document~~ ~~Download and Print the ABW 2008 Contestant Packet as an Adobe PDF Document~~ Request a hard copy sent via US Mail from the Contestant Coordinator Pay online for the contestant registration fee using a credit card. The link will take you to the ABW Registration page at Eventbright. Complete the appropriate section for contestant registration. What would be expected of me as a contestant? Complete the Contestant Application and submit, along with the $100 contestant fee, to the contestant coordinator by midnight, July 9, 2008. You must arrive at the Host Hotel no later than 6pm on Thursday July 10, 2008. Bring a basket of items to be auctioned off for the Titleholder's Travel Fund and one item to add to a basket that will benifit this year's ABW charities. Participate fully in all official ABW events during the course of the weekend. View a contestants' weekend schedule. Bear in mind this is not a complete event schedule, it is subject to change. What do I get out of being a contestant? A complete weekend package. An embroidered t-shirt. Food...we believe in feeding our contestants and forcing them to rest! As for the rest of the extracurricular activities associated with a leather event...well for that you are on your own! New friends. An amazing experience that you will never forget. A Word about titles... For the Leatherboy and Leathergirl titles, a minimum of 3 contestants must be in the contest. If fewer than the minimum are entered, then the remaining boy or girl contestants will be rolled into the Leatherman or Leatherwoman title. It will be the choice of the contestant which contest they roll into. The same may hold true if there are few contestants for the Leatherman and Leatherwoman titles. The older titles of Leatherman and Leatherwoman will always prevail where contestant numbers are concerned. What if I still have questions...is there someone specific I can talk to?
